Brief History:

The land at Daha was bought in 1965 and a few Punjabi Christians were settled there in 1968. A Church was built and dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi in 1972. Till 1990 Daha mission was taken care of by Poliganj parish. In June, 1990, Fr. Robert Mathias was installed as the first resident Priest of Daha. Sisters of Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ (PHJC) are helping the Parish Priest in the school and pastoral work. The existing convent and school were blessed on 11th July, 1991. A new Priest’s residence adjacent to the existing Church building was completed in 1991. PHJC sisters are running a hostel for small girls of Kailash Colony to help them in their education. Kailash Colony is the visiting station, 12 kms. away from Daha Farm. There are 144 Catholics. A multipurpose hall was built there in 1992. Liturgical functions are conducted there regularly.
