Brief History:
The Thummangurichi congregation initially traveled considerable distances to attend services at the parent Christ the King Church, Namakkal. In response, a palm-thatched chapel was constructed in 1942. When the original structure deteriorated, it was replaced with a tiled building dedicated on June 24, 1978, by Archbishop Michael Bosco Duraisamy of the Salem Diocese. A protective shrine honoring Our Lady of Health was added in 2007 during Rev. Fr. Masilmani’s tenure. Under Rev. Fr. D. A. Francis’s leadership (2013-2018), the church received renovations including fresh paint and structural improvements. The church serves 15 families as a branch of Christ the King Church, Namakkal, and celebrates its feast in September. Located 2 km from the District Collector’s Office in Thummangurichi.
